The key to successful design is working collaboratively with clients to create beautiful spaces that meet their needs while matching their personal style and budget. We are pleased to announce that two of our clients have been selected to share their homes on the 2016 Palace Theatre Kitchen Tour.
Our first home on the tour is a charming Manchester North End colonial, built in 1904. When the client decided to add an addition, j. ellen Design was brought in to assist with designing the kitchen, pantry and mudroom. We worked collaboratively with the homeowner to create a family-friendly space that combined traditional elements with a strong sense of color and a bit of whimsy. The family wanted the space to be welcoming and functional for their young family of five, but also sophisticated and “party ready” for entertaining. One of the showstoppers in the space is the 110-inch island in a ‘Union Jack’ blue topped with a striking slab of Super White Granite. The addition of the pass-through butler’s pantry provides plenty of storage, a prep area for entertaining, and the family’s favorite ice maker! The entire space is anchored with a beautiful herringbone patterned tile floor.
Our second home on the tour is a spacious, yet cozy new construction in Bedford. Upon entering the home, you will be greeted in the stunning foyer, boasting a beautiful turned staircase and warm walnut floors. After taking a few more steps, you will find yourself in the kitchen–the heart of this open concept home. This French Country inspired kitchen was designed to incorporate the beautiful curved custom range hood and a large kitchen island with built-in bench seating and countertop seating! This kitchen also incorporates additional elements including a hand painted tile backsplash, Phillip Jeffries woven wall covering to add a subtle texture and the burnt orange valances bring color while framing the beautiful landscape. Don’t forget to peek into the butler’s pantry to see the stunning walnut countertop and hammered copper sink.
No matter what your style, the team at j. ellen Design will work closely with you to deliver results that are functional, beautiful and within your budget.
