Pantone Color of the Year 2020 Classic Blue

Pantone Color of the Year 2020: Classic Blue

Pantone recently announced its color of the year for 2020, and it’s a shade of spectacular blue called Classic Blue. So what can you do with this great color? You don’t have to run out and paint your walls just because it’s the color of the year, but you can bring a little classic blue into your living space if you’re in love with this handsome color.

Let’s take a look at some great uses:

Paint the walls in Classic Blue

The first thing anyone might think is painting the walls in this Classic Blue shade. It may be a tad on the darker side, so if you have an already dark room without much natural light in it, you may want to shy away. Still, Classic Blue on the walls is quite dashing. Paint one wall in Classic Blue

Maybe you love the color, but you don’t have a whole room to dedicate to it. Painting just one wall in this color and pairing it with brighter, crisp colors like white or cream can help keep the natural brightness of your room and introduce this wonderful blue into it. Here are some great close color matching examples:

Accessorize in Classic Blue

Painting your walls isn’t the end all be all. You can have a white room and accessories with bold, dramatic colors like Classic Blue, paired with yellow or orange, and really make a statement. Check out these fantastic look alikes:

Take it to the kitchen or bathroom

Another great idea is painting cabinets, or even just base cabinets, in this fantastic hue. Adding a dash of Classic Blue to a white kitchen can help even out the sterile feeling. Plus, the best thing about a dark color is that it doesn’t require constant washing because of soft smudging of not-so-clean fingertips (don’t get us wrong, the grime is still there, you just can’t see it).
